PANAMA’S PARTICIPATION IN NASA CHALLENGE SPACEAPPS

The International Space Apps Challenge (http://spaceappschallenge.org) is an international open innovation event sponsored by the NASA Space Agency, which seeks the formation of entrepreneurial teams around the world to offer software solutions to challenges in dissemination of Science and Technology to contribute to the different objectives of the Agency. The Hackathon event mode with a duration of 48 hours was held on 20 and 21 April 2013 simultaneously in 80 cities and here in Panama had the support of the National University and the National Authority for Government Innovation.

My Virtual Mentor Challenge

Among the projects requested by NASA technical team of Logic Studio Panamanian company and graphic design expert participating Tierney Lynsey online from England, focused on the development of a mobile application for the challenge “ My Virtual mentor ” that required creative ideas for involving young people involved in summer programs at NASA. This program gives students the opportunity to interact with engineers, astronauts and scientists in order to motivate them to pursue careers in science, engineering and mathematics.

Using the rapid development platform for mobile applications“Paradise” created by Logic Studio was designed and audiences, in less than 48 hours, the mobile application “Brainly” , which provides an educational and entertaining way to learn about different concepts of youth curriculum NASA using Smartphones and Tablets.
